The Human Growth and Development CLEP test covers the information that is taught in one semester introductory course at the college level in lifespan or human growth from conception on. It also overlaps with many classes on developmental psychology. This test covers all the major theories having to do with psychology and development.
Human Growth and Development is a great CLEP test to take. If you’ve had experience with children, either your own or someone else’s, this test will be easier for you to study for. Contained in this book are the resources and information that you need to know for the test. Not only will you be studying Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs or Freud’s Psychosexual theory, but you will be learning about specific studies you will be tested on. Study as much or as little as you need to pass the test, there are links to extra resources and learning materials spread through the text.
You will be tested on research strategies, biological development throughout the lifespan, from conception through childhood, adolescence, adulthood and aging. Language development, personality, learning and emotions are also covered on this test.
It is important to understand that you do not have to answer each and every question correct to get a passing score. You need to get 50 of 100 correct (in most cases) to pass. The people the write the CLEP tests want you to know about half of the information to get a passing score.
